God shares the sustaining of creation with others
When god creates the heavens and the earth, He separates the light from the darkness on the first day of creation but, on day four, He delegates this task to the heavenly lights. It’s assumed that these creative acts are not once-and-for-all events but also need to be sustained, and that God wishes to share the responsibility of sustaining creation with others.
If it happened a single time, it might be coincidence but later God grants authority over all creatures to humanity.
